meet Janet
I work with touch, horse medicine, and nature to help people slow down and reconnect with themselves.
My sessions take two forms: horse medicine, where you stand quietly in the pasture and let their presence and honesty meet you where you’re at, and intuitive massage, where you’re received exactly as you are on the table.
Horses don’t perform or pretend. Neither does the body, once it feels safe enough to stop bracing. Both offer the same invitation: to notice, to feel, to be present without having to explain yourself.
Healing isn’t something I do to you. I provide a safe environment, and healing happens when you feel safe enough to listen to what’s already there.
I grew up feeling like an only child, my two half sisters were already 13 and 11 when I came along. I was quiet and shy, often lonely, with only a small circle of friends. I pretended to be confident, but my ego told me I wasn’t. I never felt like I quite fit in, and that feeling stuck with me through high school and into my late 30s.
My twenties and early thirties were a wandering stretch, literally. I excelled in my career but kept moving, west to east and back out west again, chasing new roles and new cities.
I worked in retail management, then in oil and gas procurement, all the while feeling a pull toward massage therapy I’d had since I was a teenager. Eventually, in my late 30s, I stopped ignoring it. I followed my intuition, quit my job, returned to school, and have never looked back.
For so many years, I never really understood my purpose, why I was even here. That confusion followed me for a long time.
Then my father passed away, and everything started to fall into place. My work as a massage therapist deepened. I’d always loved this career and brought passion and skill to it.
But the depth and spirituality of it all came after my father’s passing, when something shifted. I started making a real impact in my community, touching people’s lives in ways I hadn’t fully realized I could.
Now, with horse medicine, that sense of purpose has grown even further, giving me the opportunity to serve a community of people who are loved and are looking for what’s missing in their own lives.
Throughout my life, I’ve faced my own share of challenges and hard seasons: losses, relationships that ended, moments where I didn’t value myself the way I should have, and struggles I’ve had to work hard to move through. Now, in my late 40s, I’ve done the work on myself. I’ve found my confidence, and I’ve stopped shrinking myself for anyone’s comfort but my own. I’m still learning, but those experiences have given me the ability to sit with people without judgment, because I’ve been in the hard places myself.
I work in a holistic way, weaving in energy work alongside the physical touch of massage and the presence of the horses. A lot of what happens in a session isn’t something either of us needs to say out loud. I tend to pick up on what’s beneath the surface, and that unspoken layer is often where the real shift happens.
Lots of hard work and manifesting have brought me to where I am today, living on an acreage where my six horses, four dogs, and two cats get to live their best life alongside me, my daughter (building her own life and following her passion), and my hardworking husband, an entrepreneur himself.
If any of this speaks to you, I invite you to reach out. Let’s chat about how you can experience this unique and profound healing opportunity for yourself. Whatever brought you here today, trust that instinct. This could be exactly the experience you’ve been looking for. I welcome clients from near and far, so book a time that works for you and let’s begin.
